RedleX have released Mellel 1.5.1, an update to its advanced word-processor. The main new features in this updates are a significantly enhanced spell checking option containing some unique options, keyboard navigation and selection, automatic save and contextual menus.

New Mellel 1.5 features in detail:

• Check Spelling As You Type: This new option allows you to check the spelling in the text you type while you type it. Spelling mistakes are highlighted with a light-red background, which is less intrusive than the common underline "dots" and more readily recognisable when browsing a document quickly.
• Check Spelling Per Paragraph: With this option Mellel will scan for spelling mistakes only when you press the return key to start a new paragraph. Check Spelling Per Paragraph will suit users who wish to have spell checking activated, but are irritated when text is constantly marked while they type.
• Check Spelling in Selection: This option allows you to check spelling only in a selected part of the text, making it easy to check imported or pasted text without having to check the spelling in the entire document.
• Check Spelling in Document: This allows you to perform a spell check over the whole document, an option that is more convenient than checking the spelling using the regular spell checking dialogue box (which is also available).
• Don't Check Spelling: clears the ambiguity concerning when Check Spelling As You Type is activated, to fully comply with the Apple Human Interface Guidelines (Toggled Menu Items).
• Keyboard Navigation and Selection: This option allows you to navigate and select text using keyboard combinations. The implementation follows AHIG (p. 171).
• Automatic Save: allows you to save your document periodically. The default is every 15 minutes (the option is turned off by default).
• Contextual Menus: Using Control + Click or Right Click (with a two button mouse) you can access frequently used options such as suggested spelling corrections, cut, copy and paste, notes insertion, table insertion and paragraph and character styles.
• New Localised versions: Mellel is now offered in a localised French, Dutch, Spanish and German version.
